PRODUCT DETAILS

Forced Reset Trigger (FRT) designed specifically for the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 series. Replaces the factory backplate for quick installation and removal.

This version is machined from D2 tool steel and finished with a gold PVD coating. The body is low profile and sits just about flush with the back of the slide.

The FRT itself is drop-in ready. No sanding, cutting, or modification of the steel unit is required.

This FRT renders the striker safety plunger non-functional — use at your own risk.

WHAT YOU GET

COMPATIBILITY

Works in:
M&P 2.0 (9mm / 10mm / .40 / .45) — Full Size, Compact, Subcompact, Metal, Performance Center, and Thumb Safety models.

Does NOT work in:
M&P 1.0, Shield, SD, FPC, or Bodyguard models.

Does not work with the Apex Forward Set Sear Actuator.

INSTALLATION NOTES

  • The steel FRT is drop-in ready — do not modify the unit itself
  • Requires slightly rounding one edge of the trigger bar (see product images)
  • Install the included 4 lb striker spring for best performance
  • A slightly heavier recoil spring is recommended only if experiencing failures to reset (stock springs usually work in a clean, lubricated pistol)
  • .45 and 10mm models will most likely need a 22–24 lb recoil spring

Basic mechanical experience is strongly recommended. No installation assistance is provided beyond the information and videos on this page. If additional help is needed, consult a qualified gunsmith.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This is not an auto sear. The device cannot trip the sear actuator or sear because the sear actuator must move in the opposite direction to engage the sear and allow the striker to fire. The sear does not move while the device pushes the trigger bar forward — reset occurs only after the trigger is released.
